Friends you can now set up and upload images to your own personal album or see other registered users photos.
Access the Photo Album by clicking the "Photo Gallery" link top left.
I found this module on the phpBB mod site, it's not perfect but does work.
Here's how to use it.
To access the album system you must be registered.
Click the 'Album' link top left in the upper navbar.
If you are registered you should see links to
Users Personal Galleries » Your Personal Gallery
Click "Boaters Galleries" to view other members albums.
To see the original images, click the thumbnails on the gallery page.
To add images..
click 'Your Personal Gallery' in the 'Public Categories' frame.
In your gallery, click the 'Upload Pic' button.
Add an image title - I suggest the important information goes here as the description box seems to only add alt text to the image which is not shown on the original and only when you mouseover the thumbnail.
Use the image upload 'browse' button to locate your image on your own PC.
Then submit. You should get a confirmation if your image was successfully added to the gallery.
Tips on uploading
Only jpg images are permitted.
Images wider than 800 pixels cannot be uploaded so you may need to resize your original digi images using Photoshop or similar image editing software (usually supplied with the camera bundle).
As above for images higher than 600 pixels
The maximum permitted file size is 128kb so you may need to use jpg compression - I suggest quality level 30% or 3 or low depending on your software compression options.
Albums store up to 12 images as thumbnails (PM me if you need to increase the number of images).
The above settings can be altered so if enough people PM me I will increase them as required.
Thumbnail images seem to be low quality but if clicked the original image loads in a new window. Better quality thumbnails seem to be created only when the image is approaching perfect colour levels.
PM me if you still require help. _________________ Frank (Admin)
